I am currently in the process of buying a new desktop -- my old one has windows 7 and the new one has windows 8 --- will I be able to move everything over to the windows 8 system with your software?

You can move everything to your new desktop .Please do the following steps:

1.Download Folder Transfer in new desktop

2.Install Folder Transfer

3.Run Folder Transfer----Network----Sign up a Group 

4.Join a group(Input group name and password)

5.Transfer all your data to the new desktop
